Abstract
The construction industry can benefit significantly from using Large Language Models (LLMs), such as GPT models. LLMs have the potential to significantly improve various aspects of Construction Project Management (CPM), including project scheduling, regulatory compliance, risk management, project monitoring and reporting, contract management, safety protocols, documentation analysis, dispute resolution and budgeting. These models can enhance efficiency by streamlining time-consuming tasks, providing valuable insights from vast textual data, and improving decision-making processes. However, their adoption also poses challenges related to data quality, model biases, ethical considerations, and the need for experts and specialized training for users. The opportunities and challenges of using LLMs in CPM are highlighted, and a use case is illustrated for documentation analysis.
