Abstract
The paper presents a critical analysis of the book “Cost-Benefit Analysis”, published in 2017, intended for students, practitioners and researchers who implement projects for which the assessment of the effects for society, the economy and the environment is significant, and especially for public projects, funded by development funds. Additional motivation for writing this paper, in addition to presenting a critical analysis of the book, is the intense global orientation towards environment, society and governance (ESG) standards, the implementation of ESG measures through projects, and the latest research that emphasize Cost-benefit analysis as one of the basic tools for evaluating ESG projects, which should help leaders in selecting an option that contributes the most to value creation. Integrating the field of ESG, project management and cost-benefit analysis, the work contributes to the development of the topic of sustainable, responsible project management, as one of the contemporary topics in the field.
